HEADS, with support from PPAF, installed six solar-powered water filtration plants in flood-affected areas of Buner and Swat, restoring access to safe drinking water for 1,606 households (10,560 individuals). The project reduced reliance on unsafe water sources, eased the burden on women and children, and strengthened sustainability through trained Water Management Committees.
Project Objectives

Restore access to clean and safe drinking water in flood-affected communities.

Key Activities

Assessment and selection of six technically feasible and high-impact sites.

Formation and training of six functional Water Management Committees.

Installation of solar-powered borehole filtration plants (6 kW, 6,000 GPD each).

Construction of prefabricated filtration units, solar systems, and water collection points.
