This project improved WASH facilities for 3,200 school children and 4,000 returnees in Orakzai Agency through water supply rehabilitation, sanitation improvements, and hygiene awareness sessions, ensuring safe and user-friendly facilities.

Project Objectives: 

• 3200 school children and 4000 affected population in return areas of Orakzai Agency have improved access to culturally and gender appropriate, secure and user-friendly WASH facilities.

Key Activities: 

• Provide water through construction/ rehabilitation of water supply schemes.
• Installation of hand pumps in 32 schools for 3200 returnee children’s and 08 in health centers for 4000 returnee population

• Provide sanitation facilities to returnees using community approaches to sanitation
• Constructed 40 twin pour flush latrines in the selected health centers and schools in compliance with SPHERE standards and protection laws.
• Provide access to safe hygiene practices using community approaches
• Conduct 128 hygiene sessions in schools – Session comprises of approximately 25 children (3200 individuals– 1600 girls (50%), 1600 boys 50%)
• Distribution of 40 latrine cleaning kits
• Installation of Solid waste bin /Garbage Bin with material
