The Women Development Center (WDC) is a collaborative initiative of Cherat Cement Company Limited and Health Education and Development Society (HEADS), established to empower women through market-oriented vocational skills development. The project equips women with practical training in tailoring, embroidery and fashion designing, enabling them to improve their employability, generate sustainable livelihoods, and contribute to the socio-economic development of their families and communities.
The project delivers structured, hands-on training through experienced instructors, providing trainees with the technical knowledge, practical skills, and confidence required for self-employment and entrepreneurship. Training is complemented by continuous guidance, performance assessments, essential learning materials, and regular monitoring to ensure high-quality learning outcomes. Following its successful implementation and positive community impact, the project has been extended from 1 October 2025 to 30 September 2026.
Project Achievements
- 300 women successfully trained during the previous phase of the project.
- 90 women are currently enrolled across three active training classes.
- Practical training delivered in tailoring stitching, embroidery, and fashion designing.
- Trainees equipped with market-oriented skills to support self-employment and income generation.
- Regular performance assessments, mentoring, and guidance conducted to enhance learning outcomes.
- Essential training tools and materials provided, including sewing machines, fabrics, measuring tapes, scissors, needles, and other practical learning resources.
- Strong community participation maintained through regular attendance, continuous monitoring, and effective project reporting.
